Hi, I'm Jamie!

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here. I'm the face (and heart) behind Jamie Johnson Images, and before we meet in person, I'd love for you to get to know me a little.

My Story

My love for photography actually started outdoors, chasing sunsets across mountain landscapes and photographing wildflowers just because they were beautiful. But it didn't take long to realize what I loved even more than scenery was people: the way we grow and change, and how fast those seasons of life go by if you're not paying attention.

I grew up on a farm, where hard work and responsibility weren't just values, they were a way of living. But what I loved most wasn't the farm life, it was the people. I've always been drawn to hearing someone's story, and growing up I learned that everyone's story really is different and worth telling.

That love followed me into the classroom, where I spent years teaching. Teaching taught me to see kids as whole people, with their own opinions, favorite things, and stories to tell. I learned how to get a genuine smile out of even the shyest kid, and I still enjoy hearing about whatever a child is learning or excited about that day. I carry all of that into every family session I shoot now.

Then I became a mom, and everything shifted again. I already knew life moved fast, but nothing prepares you for watching your own baby change practically overnight. That's when photography stopped being just something I loved and became something I felt called to do. These ordinary little moments are actually extraordinary, and they deserve to be held onto.

My Style

If you ask me to describe my style in a few words, I'd say light, airy, and warm. I love bright, clean images with a consistent feel from your very first photo to your last, so you know exactly what you're getting when you book with me, and so your gallery feels like one beautiful story instead of a scattered collection.

More than anything, I want you to feel something when you look back at your photos. Not just next week, but years from now. I want you to feel happy. I want you to feel thankful for the time you had. Every wedding I've had the honor of photographing still fills me with joy. There's nothing like capturing that much love in one place, knowing my clients get to hold onto that memory forever.

What Sets Me Apart

I try to solve problems before they ever become issues, whether that's talking through outfits ahead of time or scouting the right location for the light, so nothing feels stressful on the actual day. I genuinely care about my clients, not just as a job, but as people I want to get to know. And honestly, I want you to print your photos. I want them on your walls, not buried in a camera roll, because you deserve to see these memories every day, not just scroll past them once a year on your phone.

If you're nervous in front of the camera, and most people are, that's completely normal. My favorite trick is simple: I get you talking about you. Your story, what you love, what makes you laugh. The best photos happen the moment you forget the camera's even there.

A Few Fun Facts

• I married a Brazilian
• I love lifting weights
• On a free afternoon, you'll probably find me doing embroidery, baking something, editing photos, gardening, or watching a good show
• My drink of choice is just plain water. I've never really been a coffee or tea person
• I'm equal parts early bird and night owl, honestly it just depends on the day
• Chicken poppyseed bake, mashed potatoes, and anything lemon dessert or ice cream  is comfort food in my book

What Working Together Looks Like

Booking with me is easy, and I promise it's low pressure. We'll text back and forth to find a day that works for you, and from there I'll help you figure out the perfect outfits for your session and the best location for the time of day and the feel you're going for.

Most of the worries clients bring me are about outfits or location, and I've got you covered on both.

A few of my favorite tips before your session:

• Skip busy patterns. Solid colors and soft textures photograph best.
• Get a good night's sleep and try not to stress. It really will be fun.
• Plan outfits a few days ahead rather than the morning of.
• If little ones are coming, pack snacks and drinks. Happy kids make for the best photos.
